BOSTON (AP) - The president of Armenia is spending several days in the Boston area visiting Armenian cultural and religious sites and meeting state dignitaries.

President Serzh Sargsyan is starting Tuesday with an ecumenical prayer service at the Old North Church in Boston, to be followed by a visit to the Rose Kennedy Greenway and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Armenian Genocide Memorial.

Wednesday’s agenda includes a Statehouse meeting with Gov. Charlie Baker and other top state officials, and an address at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

On Thursday’s he’s scheduled to visit the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and meet with the senator’s widow, Victoria Kennedy.

Massachusetts was a center for Armenian immigration a century ago.

President Sargsyan is also traveling to Washington, D.C. for the International Nuclear Energy Summit.
