BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Investigators say a 19-year-old Buffalo man is responsible for shooting eight people over 15 months, two of them fatally.

Diamond Lewis was arraigned Tuesday on two counts of second-degree murder and several other assault and attempted murder charges.

He pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.

Police and prosecutors say Lewis is responsible for shootings at four different locations in Buffalo between October 2014 and this past January. Two young men were killed and six other people, including two teen-age girls, were hurt.

Lewis was arrested in January at a Buffalo hospital while being treated for a gunshot wound himself.

His attorney didn’t immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
