EMERALD ISLE, N.C. (AP) - The Coast Guard has rescued a father and daughter from a disabled personal watercraft east of Bogue Inlet near Emerald Isle.

Coast Guard Station Emerald Isle received a report shortly before 1 p.m. Monday that a 16-year-old girl was on a disabled jet ski with her 53-year-old father in the water.

A boat from Coast Guard Station Emerald Isle launched arrived about a half-hour later. The boat towed the personal watercraft, the man and the teen to their dock in Emerald Isle.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Tyler McGuinness said both of those on the personal watercraft were wearing wetsuits and life jackets, which increased their chances of withstanding the cold water.

No one was hurt. Their names were not released.
