DOVER, N.H. (AP) - A former Massachusetts businessman convicted of luring a woman to a hotel room under the guise of a job interview is headed to prison.

Sixty-three-year-old Thomas Minichiello of Groveland, Massachusetts was sentenced Monday in Dover to up to seven years behind bars.

He was found guilty in January of kidnapping with the purpose of committing assault, sexual assault and criminal threatening.

Prosecutors say Minichiello used a phony name when he met the then-23-year-old victim and lied to her about owning a company.

The victim told police that she was brought to Minichiello’s Dover hotel room in September 2013 for an “interview.” She says Minichiello had her assume “bizarre poses” and assaulted her during this time. She lied about having AIDS to escape the padlocked room.

Minichiello apologized in court.
