AKRON, Iowa (AP) - A 56-year-old Iowan has pleaded guilty to reduced charges in a child sex abuse and pornography case.

Court records say Wilhelm VonHofsteder, of Akron, entered his pleas Monday in Plymouth County District Court to one felony count of lascivious acts with a child and three misdemeanor counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. He’d been charged with sex abuse, indecent contact with a child, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, dissemination of pornography to minors and eight counts of buying or possessing child pornography. Online court records don’t show a date for his sentencing hearing.

Police say they received a complaint July 9 of possible sexual abuse of a 12-year-old boy in Akron. Officers say they seized child pornography and other items during a subsequent search of VonHofsteder’s home.
