NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Jurors in the murder trial of a woman charged with killing her 5-year-old son in 1991 have heard from the man she was dating when the child disappeared.

Fred Bruno told jurors in Michelle Lodzinski’s murder trial that two weeks after Timothy Wiltsey was reported missing from a carnival, she told him the boy was kidnapped that night when they went back to her car.

That differed from what Lodzinski’s initially told police, that the boy had disappeared when she went to buy a soda. Bruno said the story then changed again in recorded conversations he had with Lodzinski, some of which were played in court Tuesday.

Lodzinski is charged with murdering her son. His remains were found nearly a year later in a marshy area several miles away.

She was arrested in 2014 in Port St. Lucie, Florida where she was living.
