WHITEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Columbus County woman has been sentenced to between 14 and 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

District Attorney Jon David issued a release saying that 34-year-old Beverly Williams entered the plea on Monday in the strangulation and stabbing death of Eddie Best.

Authorities say that Williams robbed Best and then killed him in his Whiteville home in May, 2013. Authorities discovered the body several days later.
