AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A northeast Ohio man is dead after police say he was hit by a car while pulling a deer he had just hit from the roadway.

Police say 58-year-old Randall Seaver died after he was hit at about 6 a.m. Monday.

Authorities say the New Franklin man was on a Route 224 entrance ramp when he hit a deer, backed up and got out of his truck. He grabbed the deer and was pulling it to the side of the road when police say he was hit by a Jeep.

The crash is under investigation. No charges have been filed.
