FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man has been arrested after allegedly crashing into an ambulance while fleeing from a Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy.

Authorities say 33-year-old Anthony Sanchez has been booked into the Pinal County Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run, unlawful flight, driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license and criminal speeding.

The deputy was trying to stop a car about 5:30 p.m. Sunday for speeding near San Manuel.

Sheriff’s officials say Sanchez then drove off at speeds of up to 100 mph, sideswiped an ambulance on the right side and kept driving.

He later stopped the car and tried to flee but was caught and arrested.

Authorities say nobody inside the ambulance was injured.

It was unclear Monday if Sanchez has a lawyer yet.
