AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine Attorney General Janet Mills is filing a complaint against a Cumberland man for allegedly failing to deliver on promised vacation tours after taking advanced payments.

The complaint says that Barry Somes offered motor coach tours to destinations around the Northeast and Canada. His businesses included TourBUSters, Club Impac, and Lids For Kids.

Mills say Somes cancelled tours and did not give customers their money back. The Attorney General’s Office has received 54 complaints from people seeking refunds of deposits paid to Somes.

Mills says many of the victims were elderly and that consumers who have had similar dealings with Somes should contact the Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
