WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A man posing as a law officer has again pulled a motorist in North Carolina - the fourth such incident in the Cape Fear region in the past four months.

Local media report a man pulled over a motorist early Wednesday morning in New Hanover County. He had a gun in a shoulder holster and blue lights mounted near the rear view mirror of his car.

The driver of the other vehicle called 911 at which time the fake officer drove off.

Authorities are not sure if it was the same man who has pulled over other motorists in recent months. In January, a man impersonating an officer pulled motorists over twice in Sneads Ferry. There was a similar incident in Fayetteville in November.
