INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - April Wilson scored 22 points, 20 of them in the second half, and No. 6 seed Purdue knocked off No. 11 Penn State, 70-59 in a Big Ten Conference women’s tournament Thursday.

The victory sends the Boilermakers into a quarterfinal battle with No. 3 seed Michigan State Friday.

Penn State started fast, taking a 15-6 lead after one quarter, but Purdue roared back to take a 28-25 lead at the break.

Wilson got untracked in the second half, hitting a 3-pointer to start the second half, giving Purdue a 31-25 lead.

Penn State led by as many as five points in the third quarter, but Wilson hit a jumper and a 3-pointer to pull Purdue even with a minute left in the period and after Bridget Perry converted a pair of free throws, the Boilermakers never trailed again.

Ashley Morrissette had 15 points for Purdue (20-10) and Perry added another 10.

Teniya Page pace Penn State (12-19) with 18 points.
