OCALA, Fla. (AP) - A former north Florida police officer is facing drug charges after authorities say investigators found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his cruiser.

The Ocala Star-Banner (https://goo.gl/X2rhsx) reports that 26-year-old Jeffrey Hall resigned from the city’s police department Friday and was arrested Monday on a single felony charge and two misdemeanors.

Ocala police detectives began investigating Hall earlier this month after receiving a tip that he was using marijuana. They began tracking Hall’s movements and followed him to a trailer park, where they say he frequently went in his patrol car. Investigators confronted Hall at the trailer park Friday and suspended him. Officials say a search of his cruiser revealed the marijuana.

Hall is free on $2,750 bail. Messages left with his attorney by The Associated Press weren’t immediately returned.
