WASHINGTON (AP) - A former Washington Redskins offensive lineman has been charged with assault.

D.C. police say 67-year-old George Starke was arrested Monday night following an incident at a downtown D.C. hotel.

According to a police report, Starke and his female companion got into an argument at the W Hotel. The argument escalated into pushing and shoving, and Starke allegedly hit the woman.

Starke was drafted by the Redskins in the 1971 NFL Draft and was a part of the famous “Hogs” offense line through the ‘70s and early ‘80s. He helped the team go to three Super Bowls and win Super Bowl XVII.
