GRAYLING, Mich. (AP) - Two weeks of joint military training are set to take place in northern Michigan.

The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1LYMEQ4 ) reports roughly 1,000 soldiers are expected to converge in the area for the National Guard-led exercise set to begin Friday. The exercise will span Camp Grayling, Alpena Air Guard Base, Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital, Rogers City port, Cheboygan port and Mackinaw City.

U.S. soldiers, airmen, Marines and Coast Guard will be joined by members of the Danish Army.

The National Guard says the training will help with response to Arctic security issues and defending from natural and manmade threats.
