LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island have arrested two 19-year-old women for trying to pass off fake $100 bills.

Police say Sarah Abraham, of Levittown, and Krystal Joushan, of Hicksville, tried to use the phony money at several stores in Levittown on Wednesday. Police say the bills were clearly marked “for motion picture use only.”

When the scheme unraveled, police say the pair fled in a car, striking another car and a pedestrian, causing a minor injury.

The two were arrested on petty larceny charges after the victim whose car was struck followed them home. Joushan was also arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. It wasn’t clear if they had lawyers.

During the investigation it was found that one of the fake bills was used at a supermarket in Mineola.
