SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Police are searching for a 31-year-old man after human remains, animal bones and dried blood were found at a Slidell home.
Slidell Police searched a house Tuesday on a tip from a concerned citizen. Detectives found human skulls and other bones, animal bones and dried blood in a large cast iron bowl surrounded by candles and other ritualistic items. Investigators believe the blood to be animal blood, with the possibility that Joshua Roques was sacrificing animals at what looked like an altar.
Police believe the human bones were taken from a grave but don’t believe the bones are related to a homicide.
Roques is wanted on various charges including unlawful disposal of remains, disinterring human remains and possession of cocaine. He fled before police arrived to search the premises.
