ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two people were found dead in a Tampa Bay area home following a 10-hour standoff.

St. Petersburg police are telling local media outlets that 37-year-old Michael Brown killed himself early Thursday morning as a SWAT team was deployed around his house. Police also found 34-year-old Christal Anderson inside the home, but it wasn’t immediately clear when she died.

Police say Anderson was reported missing Sunday from a work-release program designed to help female inmates transition into the society. The Florida Department of Corrections says she was on an approved furlough when her ankle bracelet monitor was cut. She had been serving a three-year sentence for fraud.

Detectives went to Brown’s home Wednesday afternoon, and authorities say he barricaded himself inside. Brown and Anderson had a 6-yeard-old son together. The boy had reportedly been staying with relatives.
