LORTON, Va. (AP) - Police are searching for clues in the death of an 83-year-old retired World Bank economist earlier this month.

WTOP reports (bit.ly/1SBHZmm) that Fairfax County Police spent Tuesday and Wednesday evening going door-to-door looking for information to help them solve the death of Johan De Leede, who was found shot in his waterfront home in Lorton March 11.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives have been interviewing neighbors and leaving fliers. Authorities say they plan to hold a community meeting about the case soon.

Neighbor Leslie Jacobs has lived in the typically quiet and safe neighborhood for 16 years. He says De Leede’s death is “the most shocking thing” to happen since he’s been there.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about De Leede’s death to contact police.
