WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts community college has been evacuated for the second consecutive day after receiving what it called a “shooter threat.”
Quinsigamond (kwin-SIG’-uh-mond) Community College in Worcester issued an alert at 8:47 a.m. Thursday that the campus has been closed until further notice. It asked all faculty and students to leave “in an orderly fashion.”
At 10:16 a.m., the college said it had received a “shooter threat” and all day classes at its man and satellite campuses had been canceled.
In the afternoon, the college announced that evening classes and activities had also been canceled.
School spokesman Josh Martin said via email that the investigation is ongoing.
The evacuation comes after the campus was closed due to a bomb and shooting threat.
