DETROIT (AP) - The Michigan Science Center in Detroit will host Spark!Lab, the first Smithsonian exhibit in the state, with support from Ford Motor Co. and its philanthropic arm.
Spark!Lab features hands-on activities that encourage original thinking and exploration.
Children and families can take part in science experiments, games and special programs designed to nurture their creativity.
Michigan’s Spark!Lab will be the fifth in the U.S. They mix fun with science, technology, engineering and math.
Jim Vella is president of Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. He says Spark!Lab introduces children to a new world of educational and career possibilities.
The exhibit opens to the public Saturday.
