RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming man has been sentenced to more than a year in prison for felony child abuse.

The Ranger reports (https://bit.ly/1X0mQn4 ) that 33-year-old Ricky Lee Good Left of Fort Washakie has been sentenced to 16 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. He has also been ordered to pay a $200 fine and $100 special assessment.

Court documents say Good Left in 2015 physically injured a child to a point beyond reasonable corporal punishment. Documents indicate that Good Left had physical custody and control of the child.

The documents say the crime occurred in Indian Country, a legal term used to establish law enforcement jurisdiction. The case was investigated by the FBI.

Good Left initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea to guilty in December.
