LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a 21-year-old Oakland man has been found guilty of killing his puppy by setting it on fire.

The Los Angeles Time reports ( ) that Willie Bee Turner was convicted Thursday of animal abuse, maliciously killing an animal and arson.

Prosecutors say Turner set fire to the Chihuahua-mix puppy in January 2015 after getting angry when the dog defecated in his friend’s Sacramento apartment.

Turner is accused of pouring beach cleaner on the 8-week-old puppy, putting it into a crate and lighting the animal on fire.

He faces up to four years in prison.
