MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut state police dispatcher is facing charges after he allegedly encouraged a teenage boy to have sex with a prostitute.
Middletown police arrested 48-year-old Jeffrey Norton earlier this week on charges of enticing a minor for sexual activity online.
In court documents, police allege Norton had been communicating online with a 15-year-old boy since last July. They say he tried to arrange a meeting between the boy and a prostitute and sent the teen a video of himself having sex with the prostitute.
The teen’s parents contacted police when they uncovered the conversations. Norton told police he was just trying to provide relationship and sex advice.
State police say Norton has worked for the department since 2004 but has been placed on administrative leave. He’s due in court March 16.
