NEW ROADS, La. (AP) - Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 19-year-old Lettsworth man accused in the shooting of a Batchelor man who was found dead in his car last week.
Sheriff Bud Torres tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1TUwpFB) Eric Long Jr., accompanied by an attorney, turned himself in to authorities Thursday.
Torres says Long was booked with first-degree murder in the Feb. 25 slaying of 25-year-old Terrell Davis, who died from a single gunshot wound.
Authorities have not released a motive in Davis’ slaying.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for Long.
