NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A Stratford man has been found guilty of murder in the 2014 shooting death of a man in Hamden.

Nicholas Papantoniou (Papap-an-TONY-oo) was convicted in New Haven on Thursday of felony murder, first-degree burglary and criminal possession of a firearm in the October 2014 killing of 56-year-old Larry Dildy.

Police say co-defendant William Coutermash told them he drove the 39-year-old Papantoniou to Dildy’s house to break in and steal money.

Police say Coutermash told them that Papantoniou said he got into a fight with Dildy and shot him. Countermash pleaded guilty to charges as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. He’s awaiting sentencing.

Papantoniou faces up to 90 years in prison when he’s sentenced on May 26.
