BOURNE, Mass. (AP) - An 18-year-old Sandwich man and his underage passengers will face charges following a head-on crash that police say was caused by alcohol and speeding.

Police say the driver lost control of his Toyota Camry and hit a Toyota Corolla around 5:30 p.m. Friday near the Bourne Scenic Park.

The driver of the Corolla, a 34-year-old man from Marshfield, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition wasn’t immediately known.

The Camry’s four male passengers were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The men are all under the age of 21. Police haven’t released their identities.

Police say the 18-year-old driver will be charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and related charges. His passengers will be charged with being minors in possession of alcohol.
