TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) - Police were searching Sunday for the second suspect in the beating and stabbing of a 19-year-old woman in Taylorsville.

Unified police Det. Chuck Malm says 32-year-old Eliese Tupou Olive (oh-LEE’-vay) is considered armed and dangerous.

According to police, the victim was visiting a home Monday when Olive and 34-year-old Jeffrey Rich Hanson accused of her of theft. They allegedly bound the victim before beating and stabbing her.

She was able to escape to a neighbor’s for help.

Malm says the woman remains hospitalized but is expected to fully recover.

Hanson was arrested Saturday after a passer-by recognized him.

He is being held on charges of aggravated kidnapping and attempted murder.

Malm said he did not know if Hanson had retained an attorney.

Hanson was released from prison last month.
