SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Plans to film a chase scene near Tybee Island for the move “Baywatch” are annoying some residents and delighting others.

The Savannah Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/1Qz8kSz ) that the some residents are concerned about the noise, traffic delays and potential damage to docks and boats from the scene being filmed on Chimney Creek.

Other area residents told the newspaper that they were excited about the movie production coming to town.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has issued permission for lengthy filming on the beach at Tybee and for construction of a temporary dock on the creek. The newspaper reports that the film crew has requested to go faster than normally allowed in the creek while filming a jet ski chase.

Filming is expected to take place this spring.
