MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee firefighters have discovered a body in a home the day after fighting a blaze at the house.

The Milwaukee Fire Department was called late Friday morning to the two-story house. Firefighters were told a woman was trapped in the building. Neighbors already had removed the woman when firefighters arrived, and she was taken to a hospital after suffering burns.

On Saturday, a relative of the burn victim asked the police and fire departments about another family member who also lived in the home. The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1UKpePN) reports authorities returned to the house and found a man’s body under a pile of debris.

The Fire Department is conducting an internal investigation to make sure proper procedures were followed.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner has not yet identified the man.
