ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Police have arrested a woman in connection with the fatal shooting of her boyfriend at an Albuquerque apartment complex.

Authorities said Sunday that Karen Henderson is facing charges of murder, trafficking a controlled substance and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Officer Daren DeAguero says the incident happened Saturday evening on Chama Street near Zuni Road.

According to investigators, officers responded to reports of someone standing outside the complex holding a shotgun.

They found Rueben Zepeda dead with a gunshot wound.

A criminal complaint says officers stopped a vehicle with three occupants including Henderson.

Henderson acknowledged shooting Zepeda after he allegedly struck her twice in the head with the butt of his gun.

Henderson, who has an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, was booked after being treated at the hospital.
