MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Minot is mulling curbside recycling service that could improve the longevity of the city landfill.

KXMC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1QobZkG ) about 15,000 tons of trash is collected in Minot residential areas each year.

A Waste Management representative says as much as 2,400 tons of waste could be reduced from the local landfill if a curbside recycling program was introduced.

A committee has recommended that the city council form a group to further research the curbside recycling plan.
