CLINTWOOD, Va. (AP) - The Virginia State Police is investigating after a body was found in a burning mobile home in Clintwood.

Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said in a statement that firefighters were called around 6:40 a.m. Sunday to a structure fire in the 200 block of Knob Hill Road. Geller says the mobile home was completely destroyed and a body was found inside.

Geller says the remains have been sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and identification.

Geller says the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
