WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) - A woman is under arrest after an apartment fire in Wahpeton displaced 30 people.

The call came in early Sunday at the Community Homes.

Wahpeton Fire Chief Joel Hermes tells KFGO-AM (https://bit.ly/21ThDjW ) the fire was contained to one unit, but “multiple people” were trapped in the building.

Hermes says the police department and sheriff’s office helped firefighters get residents out of the building.

Some people had to be rescued by ladder. No one was hurt.

Several other apartments sustained smoke and water damage.

The American Red Cross is housing the displaced residents at a nearby motel.
