HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A corrections officer has been charged with sexually assaulting a male inmate at the Hartford Correctional Center.

Police announced Monday that 37-year-old Paul Rosenberg, of Litchfield, had turned himself in to authorities over the weekend.

Rosenberg is charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police began an investigation in September after an inmate complained that Rosenberg had touched him inappropriately.

Court documents indicate the Department of Corrections has placed Rosenberg on administrative leave. A message left for the DOC wasn’t immediately returned.

Rosenberg is scheduled to appear in court March 14.

A message left for a woman identified in court documents as Rosenberg’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned.
