SEATTLE (AP) - Police say a 92-year-old Washington woman is being treated for life-threatening injuries after she was mauled by dogs.

KCPQ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/21T1RZM ) that the woman was attacked when she entered her neighbor’s empty home. Officials say the neighbor helped care for the woman and it wasn’t unusual for her to visit while the neighbor was out.

The woman was mauled by up to four dogs when she entered the Thurston County home Sunday evening. Only one dog belonged to the homeowner, but she was dog-sitting for the others.

The homeowner returned while the woman was being mauled. She was able to remove the dogs and call 911.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s office says the dogs are all Pitbull mixes. They have been taken into quarantine by animal services.
