SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A section of Interstate 80 in the Sierra Nevada is closed due to blizzard conditions as another winter storm rolls into California.

Caltrans crews shut a section of the highway over Donner Summit late Sunday for an unknown duration.

The storm reached the northernmost part of the state Sunday evening and is expected to spread across California overnight. Forecasters warned of strong winds, heavy rain and snow and dangerous breaking waves along the coast.

A seven-day total could approach 20 inches of rain in Northern California and up to three inches in the southern end of the state. Meanwhile, forecasters warned of whiteout conditions in the Sierra Nevada, where up to two inches of snow could fall per hour.
