Liberal filmmaker and Michigan native Michael Moore railed against Democrats on Twitter Sunday night, saying they “remained silent” while the people of his native city of Flint were “poisoned” by the water supply.

Flint has voted for Dems for 84 straight yrs. What did it get us? For 18 months Dems remained silent &ignored pleas while Flint was poisoned,” Mr. Mooretweeted to his 1.97 million followers.

“Dems in Flint today handing out bottles of water. Bottles? 100,000 people need 20 MILLION 16oz bottles of water EACH DAY! You’re not helping,” he continued. “Dems control the Dept of Justice. The US attorney is a Dem. If they want to help, arrest the governor. Then send in Army Corps of Engineers.”

Mr. Moore, who has remained a prominent voice during the Flint water crisis, also accused Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder of “malice” and “ethnic cleansing” of the predominantly black city.

“It’s not an infrastructure problem. Not an environmental problem. Flint is the victim of a hate crime. A Black city, & a governor w/ malice,” he wrote. “#EthnicCleansing committed by the Republican governor of Michigan against a majority-Black city.”

“The governor gave the rich a tax break. To afford it, he ordered Flint 2 cut $15M in costs by shutting off its water pipe to the GreatLakes,” Mr. Mooretweeted. “It’s not a ‘water crisis.’ It’s the kind of decision that Republican officials make every day: Help the rich, [expletive] the poor #ArrestGovSnyder.”
