MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Missoula firefighter Andrew Drobeck won his fifth consecutive title at the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle.

Drobeck climbed 69 flights of stairs, in full gear including a respirator, in 10 minutes and 43 seconds on Sunday. He set the record of 10:38.2 in 2012.

Another Missoula City firefighter, Benjamin Brunsvold, finished second in 11:18. He also finished second in 2014 and has finished in the Top 4 in each of the past four years.

Drobeck’s five wins and Missoula rural firefighter Kory Burgess’ victories from 2009-11, give Missoula-area firefighters the last eight crowns.

Missoula City Fire won the event while Kalispell Whitefish Fire was third, led by Taylor Zachary, who finished 13th overall.

The event raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Nearly 1,800 firefighters participated.

This story has been corrected to show Drobeck’s first name is Andrew.
