AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Avondale police say no guns were stolen from a gun shop after a stolen SUV crashed into the business but that it’s too early to tell whether it was an attempted break-in.

Police Sgt. Brandon Busse (BUS’-ee) says debris collapsed onto the front end of the vehicle, which he says apparently would have prevented anybody from entering the shop’s interior after the crash early Monday morning.

Whoever was driving the SUV left before police got to the scene.

Busse says officers responded to the location within a minute or so after getting a call from an alarm company, but it’s not immediately known how promptly the alarm company called.

According to Busse, police aren’t ruling out the possibility of an attempted burglary.
