RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The White House says President Obama has approved Virginia’s request for a disaster declaration after January’s snowstorm.

The administration said in a news release that on Monday, Obama ordered federal aid to supplement commonwealth, tribal and local recovery efforts for the storm.

Federal funds are available for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the storm in 20 counties and five cities.
