PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices in Rhode Island have increased for the first time since November and are up three cents per gallon.

AAA Northeast says its weekly survey released Monday found the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular gas was up to $1.77.

Prices had previously dropped for 13 consecutive weeks.

Rhode Island’s price is four cents lower than the national average and 68 cents lower than the in-state price at this time last year.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling in Rhode Island for as low as $1.65 and as high as $1.86 per gallon.

AAA says a rebound in oil prices has sparked an increase in gas prices nationally.
