GRAYSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A man has been arrested after police say he was operating a meth lab in his Graysville home.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that 51-year-old Bruce Alan Cash was arrested Friday on a charge of unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a Graysville house where the homeowner had granted consent for them to check the house for meth. The release says that once deputies entered the basement, they discovered a man in the process of making methamphetamine.

Hazmat crews worked on Friday to decontaminate the home.

There has been no word on whether the homeowner will be charged in addition to Cash.
