ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Two people have been convicted in the fatal shooting of a Rochester man who was gunned down in front of his pregnant girlfriend.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says a jury on Monday convicted 28-year-old Jerome Phillips and 26-year-old Sherri McDonald of second-degree murder in the January 2015 slaying of Bradie Davis.

Authorities say Davis was at a Rochester bar with Gigi Pena, who was expecting his child. Davis and Pena were walking to their car when Phillips approached from behind and fired seven to nine gunshots into Davis’ back.

Davis managed to open his car door to get Pena to safety. He later died from his wounds.

Prosecutors say McDonald drove Phillips to the bar and then drove him back home after the shooting.

Phillips and McDonald will be sentenced May 11.
