PORT HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have identified a couple killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 69 in Michigan.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports (https://bwne.ws/1YlRVm2 ) 83-year-old driver Ira Crass and his 81-year-old passenger Fay Crass of Clarkston died in Sunday night’s crash on the freeway’s business loop in St. Clair County’s Port Huron Township, about 55 miles northeast of Detroit.

Investigators say Ira Crass was going the wrong way when he collided head-on with another vehicle. Five people in the other vehicle were injured, including a 46-year-old man who was driving, a 73-year-old woman, a 46-year-old woman, a 16-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.

They were taken to hospitals for treatment. The crash is under investigation. The freeway was closed for about three hours after the crash.
