SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - San Bernardino County coroner’s officials say a 22-year-old student who died last year after a seizure at an electronic music festival overdosed on the illegal drug Ecstasy.

The Los Angeles Times reports Tuesday (https://lat.ms/1LP1TdV) that the cause of death for John Hoang Dinh Vo is listed as acute toxicity from MDMA, the chemical name of Ecstasy.

Vo was a senior at UC Irvine majoring in biological sciences.

He was at the Beyond Wonderland event at the San Manuel Amphitheater last March when officials say he suffered an apparent seizure and went into cardiac arrest.

He died at a hospital.

He died on the first night of the massive gathering hosted by Insomniac Events, which stopped hosting events at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum after a 15-year-old girl took Ecstasy and died in 2010.
