ATLANTA (AP) - A popular Latin music record label is expected to co-presenting a championship competition featuring the world’s finest dancers in December.

Fania Records and the World Dance Group announced Tuesday that both will present the fifth annual World Salsa Championships in downtown Atlanta. The five-day competition will take place December 7-11, featuring talents in five unique divisions.

The five categories include Salsa On-1 (L.A. Style), Salsa On-2 (Mambo), and Cabaret (tricks and lifts permitted) along with Same Gender and Teams (six plus dancers.) Same Gender and Teams are included in the categories for the first time.

Judge Billy Fajardo will oversee the panel of 12 judges.

DJ Henry Knowles, DJ Jorge Charun and DJ Mike Arana are some of the top DJs that will be performing at multiple thematic after parties.
