GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Greenville County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a suspect who struck an officer with a truck in Pelzer.

Lt. Ty Miller said in a statement that a deputy saw someone trying to break into a propane tank case at a store around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Miller said as the officer approached, the suspect ran to a truck and drove away, striking the deputy.

The officer fired his gun at the suspect. Miller says investigators don’t know if the suspect or the truck was hit.

The deputy was taken to a Greenville hospital with non-serious injuries. His name has not been released.
