COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A 24-year-old man has been acquitted in the 2012 death of a man whose body was found in trash dumped from a garbage truck in Columbus.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1W5aAkB ) a jury found Dewhite Riley not guilty of murder in the death of 45-year-old Dean Reinhard. But he was convicted of receiving stolen property for using the victim’s stolen credit cards.

Riley was sentenced to 10 months behind bars that will run concurrently with a 14-year prison term he’s serving for unrelated assault convictions.

Reinhard’s body was found in January 2012 at a disposal company’s transfer station. The county coroner has said the cause of death was strangulation.
