EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A Linn County man facing federal charges that he threatened to kill an Albany police officer in a post on Facebook has been sentenced to 1 ½ years in prison.

The Register-Guard reports (https://goo.gl/dA0lgE ) that 24-year-old Timothy Loren McCoy Fleming was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to one count of transmitting a threat in interstate commerce as part of a plea deal. Fleming has received credit for time served and is expected to be released in a few months.

Fleming was arrested Jan. 30 after his sister called Albany police to report that he had posted the threats on his Facebook page and a photo of him holding a gun. Police say they found Fleming in possession of a pellet gun.

Fleming apologized in court Monday for making the threats.
